Ward Cobleigh from VIAVI and Chris Greer from Packet Pioneer presented at Tech Field Day Extra at Cisco Live 2025 on using AI for PCAP analysis. In this post I review the results and conclusions, and provide some of my own observations. When I do my part, I am talking out of my butt here, so it’s not impossible that I’m way off the mark when I voice an opinion. I am also not an expert at AI, just a pessimistic network engineer, so that tends to color my viewpoint.

My experiences and review of Cisco Live 2023, including two of those days being spent with the Tech Field Day crew participating in Tech Field Day Extra. Also, a bit about me and why it took almost a month to get this review up.

Registration is now open for Cisco Live 2023, including conference hotels. Here’s what I know so far … which is mainly just a summary of key points from the website.

Cisco Live 2022 (for the US) is done and dusted. How did it go? Was COVID an issue? Is there anything they could do differently? Are in person events safe? Well, let’s talk about all that.

My previous post didn’t include a lot of information about the event itself – just that the conference registration website was up, and included hotel registration as well. Here’s what I’ve pulled so far from the website …

It’s coming on three years since Cisco Live has been in person (2020 and 2021 were both remote only events). But Cisco Live US 2022 is looking like it will be in person again. So, if you fancy a trip to Las Vegas in June, read on!

I’ve gotten a hold of the (subject to change) plans for the virtual event for CiscoLive 2020 … and of course, there’s no way I could keep it to myself. Here’s what’s planned at this point.
