Eric Stewart: Running Off At The Mouth

Cisco Live 2020 (US) is now a virtual event: June 2-3

COVID-19 really is quite the crisis for the world.  It was really only a matter of time before Cisco Live 2020 turned into something other than what it was initially planned to be.  It hasn’t been canceled, per se, but nobody will be going to Las Vegas for it.

We’re all going to get it.  That’s my thoughts on it.  The plan, in order to allow the health systems of the countries of the world be better able to deal with it, is to try to delay getting it as long as possible.  As such, “Social Distancing” is now a thing, and events like Cisco Live (at least as it has been) are the antithesis of social distancing.  I will so miss my friends, but I think my doctor will be happier that I’m not going to be spending a lot of time around a lot of people, or being a lot less careful about what I eat or drink.

So it is that they’ve changed it to a complimentary, two day virtual event.  All registrations will be refunded.  Already got my notification.

It will include streamed keynotes, talks, technical content, along with on-demand technical deep-dive sessions (possibly just references to recordings of sessions from Cisco Lives past, but hey, they’re there), some opportunities to interact with Cisco experts, and even some social media contests.

This is all stuff you could have found out yourself from the Cisco Live US page, so I’m not telling you anything new.  And honestly, I have nothing new at this time to tell you.  But if I get any additional sneak peaks or details, I’ll see if I can’t put another post up here with the info.
